Getting started
When is Gymwise launching?
Gymwise is still in development. The download button on this site will work once the app is on the App Store.
What do I need to run it?
An iPhone running a current version of iOS. The watch app needs an Apple Watch paired to that iPhone. Live Activities appear on the Lock Screen on all supported iPhones; the Dynamic Island version needs an iPhone 14 Pro or later.
Do I need an account?
No. Install it, skip sign-in and start logging. Everything lives on your device. Create a free account when you want cloud backup, iPhone-to-Watch sync, or the ability to restore your history on a new phone.
Is there an Android version?
Not today. Gymwise is built natively for iPhone and Apple Watch, which is what makes things like Live Activities and the Dynamic Island possible. If Android happens, it'll be announced here first.
What languages does it support?
English, German, Spanish, Italian and French, across the iPhone app, the watch app and the exercise library. Gymwise follows your device language, and you can override it in Settings.
Training & the app
How does the equipment / gym profile thing work?
You create a profile for each place you train and tick off what's available there: barbells, machines, bands, and the actual dumbbell and plate increments in the rack.
Gymwise then filters suggestions to what you can do at today's gym, adds an At My Gym chip to the Add Exercise screen, and flags any exercise in a routine that the current gym can't cover, with a one-tap swap for an alternative.
Can I add exercises that aren't in the library?
Yes. Create your own with the muscles they work, the equipment they need and your own notes. Custom exercises behave exactly like built-in ones, showing up in search, in routines and in your history charts.
Can I use pounds instead of kilograms?
Yes. kg/lbs and cm/inches are set during onboarding and changeable any time in Settings. Existing logs are converted rather than rewritten, so your history stays intact.
What happens if I close the app mid-workout?
Nothing is lost. The workout keeps running via the Live Activity, and reopening Gymwise, even after force-quitting from the app switcher, drops you straight back into the session where you left it.
Does it work with Apple Health?
Yes, if you allow it. Gymwise can save your sessions to Health as workouts (with heart rate and active energy from your watch), and read heart rate, active energy, body weight and body fat percentage to fill in your stats. It's entirely optional. Decline the permission prompt and the app works exactly the same, minus those numbers.
Apple Watch & sync
Can I run a whole workout from my watch?
Yes. The watch app is a full tracker: pick a routine, log sets, run rest timers and finish the session without touching your phone.
Does it sync both ways?
It does. Start on your watch and finish on your phone, or the other way round. Sync runs continuously while a workout is active and settles as soon as both devices are in range.
Will my data appear on a new iPhone?
If you're signed into a Gymwise account, yes. Sign in on the new device and your routines, history and settings come down. Without an account, data stays on the old device, so create one before you switch phones.
Gymwise Pro
What's free and what's paid?
Logging unlimited workouts, the exercise library, the Apple Watch app, Live Activities, 4 routines, 1 folder and 90 days of chart history are free. Pro lifts the routine and folder caps and adds the workout generator, the program library, full strength history, training insights, advanced stats and body-measurement charts. There's a full breakdown on the Pro page.
How do I cancel?
In the Settings app, under your Apple ID → Subscriptions. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.
I paid but Pro isn't showing.
Open the Gymwise paywall and tap Restore Purchases while signed into the Apple ID you bought with. If it still doesn't unlock, email us with the date of purchase and we'll sort it.
Do you offer refunds?
Subscriptions are sold by Apple, so refunds go through Apple: use reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue them directly, but tell us what went wrong and we'll try to fix it.
Your data
Who can see my workouts?
You. Gymwise has no social feed, no leaderboards and no public profiles. If you use an account, your data is stored in your own record and isn't shared with other users. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
Do you sell my data or run ads?
No, and no. Gymwise makes money from Pro subscriptions, and that's the whole business model.
How do I delete my account and data?
From Settings inside the app, or by emailing support@medorius.com from your account address. Deletion removes your workouts, routines and profile from our servers. See the details here.
Can I export my workouts?
You can request a copy of your data at any time by emailing support@medorius.com, and we'll send it in a machine-readable format.
