Terms of Service
Last updated: 22 September 2026
1. These terms
These terms form an agreement between you and Medorius ("we", "us") covering your use of the Gymwise apps for iPhone and Apple Watch and the website at gymwise.net (together, "Gymwise"). By using Gymwise you accept them. If you do not agree to them, do not use Gymwise.
2. Who can use Gymwise
You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to enter a contract where you live. If you're using Gymwise on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it.
3. Gymwise is not medical advice
Gymwise records training you choose to do and offers general suggestions such as generated workouts, rest timers and volume summaries. It is not a doctor, physiotherapist or personal trainer, and nothing in it is medical advice or a training prescription tailored to your health.
Strength training carries risk of injury. You are responsible for training safely, using appropriate weights and technique, and stopping if you feel pain. Speak to a qualified professional before starting a new programme, particularly if you have an existing condition, are pregnant, or are returning from injury. You use Gymwise's suggestions at your own risk.
4. Your account
You can use Gymwise without an account. If you create one, keep your credentials secure and don't share them, because you're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly at support@medorius.com if you think someone else has access.
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app or by emailing us. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we're required to by law; where it's reasonable to do so, we'll tell you why first.
5. Gymwise Pro subscriptions
- Gymwise Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending.
- Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings after purchase. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for. We don't pro-rate part-periods.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own terms, via reportaproblem.apple.com. Nothing here affects statutory rights you may have as a consumer.
- Prices may change. Where they do, we'll give notice in advance and any change takes effect from your next renewal.
- Free-plan limits, Pro features and their contents may evolve as the app develops. We won't remove a headline Pro feature during a period you've paid for without offering a reasonable alternative.
6. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- break the law with Gymwise, or use it to harm anyone;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or tamper with the app, except to the extent the law says you may;
- attempt to access other users' data, or to bypass authentication, rate limits or App Check;
- scrape, bulk-download or resell the exercise library, animations or other content;
- overload or disrupt our servers, or use automated systems against them.
7. Your content and your data
You own your training data. You keep ownership of the workouts, routines, custom exercises, notes and measurements you create. You grant us only the permission we need to host, back up, sync and display that data to you as part of running the service. We don't publish it, sell it, or use it for advertising. See the Privacy Policy.
You're responsible for the content you enter, so don't upload anything unlawful or infringing.
8. Our content
Gymwise, its name, logo, design, software, exercise library, animations and written content are owned by Medorius or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own training. Everything not expressly granted is reserved.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep Gymwise available and reliable, but we can't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may update, change or discontinue features, and we may need to take the service down for maintenance. If we discontinue Gymwise altogether, we'll give reasonable notice and a way to export your data.
Cloud sync is provided as a convenience and is not guaranteed. Keep your own backups of anything you can't afford to lose, for example by keeping your device backed up via iCloud or a computer.
10. Third-party services
Gymwise relies on services from Apple, Google (Firebase) and Cloudflare, and can integrate with Apple Health. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to their parts of the experience, and we're not responsible for their acts or omissions.
11. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gymwise is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. Some jurisdictions don't allow these exclusions, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law allows.
12. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or injury arising from how you choose to train; and our total liability to you in connection with Gymwise is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £50.
If you're a consumer, you have statutory rights that these terms don't affect.
13. Ending this agreement
You can stop using Gymwise and delete your account at any time. We may end this agreement if you materially breach these terms. On termination, the licence in section 8 ends; sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability, governing law) do.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes. We'll update the date at the top, and for material changes we'll give notice in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Gymwise after that means you accept the new terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you're a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or the EEA, you keep the protection of your local mandatory laws and may bring proceedings in your local courts.
16. Apple's role
This agreement is between you and Medorius, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Gymwise or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
